Walk around in Old Town

A good starting point is to go to Viru Väljak which is the busy traffic intersection below Viru Hotel. This is a place which is easy to find since Viru Hotels high structure can be seen from many other parts of Tallinn. From Viru Väljak walk into the old Town on the street called Viru. This street can be recognized by the flower and handicraft kiosks on the left and the burger joint, stores and open-air restaurant to the right. You walk trough the towers that you see just in front of you and thereafter you have McDonald's on the left and a shopping center to the right. Thereafter you continue on the same street and when you see the Olde Hansa restaurant you cross "Vene" street, continue straight up and the turn right. You are now on the "Town Hall Square" (Raekoja Plats).

Follow the long side of the grey Town Hall building continue on the street that follows the same line. After a while you reach a crossing where there is a gate in a thick tower wall. Go through the gate and start walking upwards on "Pikk Jalg". At the end of this slope you will see the orthodox church. Turn into the street on the right and keep walking. After a while you will reach the marvellous viewing point shown on the picture below!
